Просмотров 79 тыс.10 лет назад
How do we decide where is home? Feeling increasingly isolated in her adopted homeland, accomplished Korea-born American documentarian Dai Sil Kim-Gibson travels to Cuba to unearth stories from a relatively unknown group in the Asian diaspora. On the island, she meets Martha, a woman of Korean descent who identifies herself as Cuban. Like many of her contemporary countrymen and women, Martha pos...

    My family and I knew this sweet generous Korean descendant elderly guy who was friend of my Spañiard Grandfather. He told us such good stories from when he was young and how he's family migrated to Cuba. He recently passed from old age, will will never forget him 🙏🏻❤

    The man I call my dad was a Cuban born Korean. His experience is vastly different however, the mindset of making home where people best grow together is the same. Immigrants that show us everywhere, that with a goal set and determination at hand, prosperity can be achieved. Individual strength contributed into the community’s growth. You’re not a product of your environment but your environment is a product of you. Thank you for this video.

    I’m impressed with the Koreans in Cuba, because their value system is so much different from ours, and they love Cuba. She isn’t saying Cuba is perfect, but she likes the ideals of everybody pitching in for the common good. And she’s had the opportunity to come here and make money, but that doesn’t entice her. I like her attitude.

    This made me cry 😢 My family came in this group . They were immigrants from south Korea . Llegaron a Merida Yucatán primero y trabajaban en plantaciones de arroz y de ahí siguieron para Cuba y se establecieron en Cardenas , Matanzas . So I’m half Cuban and half Korean , born and raised in Habana , my last name is Pak and my family last name is Pak Chang .I’m part of the Korean Cuban association in Havana and my aunt was Luisa Pak Chang known for being one of the best Korean translators in Cuba . Also my cousin is Alicia Pak a very well known and talented artist .... Thank you for this video I will share it with all my Korean family back in Cuba . thank you for this instructive video that made me learn a lot about my Korean heritage 💕💕💕

    I am the son of Cubans. I speak and understand Spanish, as my 1st language. At 11:37 the lady says affected "...by the Revolutionary laws". The subtitle says "...like the big business owners". WHAT?! PURE PROPAGANDA AND LIES! Anybody watching this, that does not understand the Cuban dialect, and is relying on the subtitles, is being tricked.

    • @fengetaset9488
      @fengetaset9488 4 года назад

      They basically skipped that part in the subtitle. The part after was when she spoke of big businesses that were ruined by the Communist revolution. Dishonest editing, at best.

    I can’t believe that these Koreans like Fidel Castro’s revolución and accept a dictatorship and the tyranny of the Castro brothers! I am appalled 😮, speechless. Jeez, the brainwashing and indoctrination these folks received speak louder as to the indoctrination they received by being puppets and marionettes of the tyranny of the Castro brothers. Just listening to them explain and defend communism makes me vomit. Jesus of Nazareth and all His Disciples....these Koreans should return to South Korea or North Korea so they can learn the atrocities that Kim Jung un does to their own people! Never thought I would listen to this garbage coming from Koreans. Oh well....let them suffer the consequences of their stupidity and idiocy defending the indefensible. Very upsetting video , pure communist propaganda and so disappointing and disgusting. Enough with this disgraceful video, please enough!!!! Makes me sick to my stomach. Ugh 😑 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩. 👿👿👿👹👹👹👹

    Fuck that, the revolution in Cuba was against black people when they brought over like half a million white Europeans from Spain and all the parts of Europe and the early part of the nineteenth hundred,throw an orchestrated plot called Blancomient!!! The whitening on the population by introducing a mass Exodus of white Europeans that's destroying the black social structure and keeping it from becoming a black country!!!!!!!

    My French-Cuban grandfather worked for a Swedish company which made sugar mill components in Cuba. We are amazed at these pockets of different ethnicities because communist Cuba is so isolated, but Cuba was a free country before Castro, and had a 1st world economy. The Cuban peso was equal to the American dollar...unheard of in the rest of Latin America or even most of Europe. Socialism destroys. Stay free and capitalist America! Some ethnicities settled in Cuba after the revolution, like those from communist countries; Congo, Mozambique, Nicaragua (at one point), North Korea, Russia, Venezuela, and communist ideology students from all over the world, etc.
